What exactly is ilmCode POS?
ilmCode Commerce's full online shop plus a point-of-sale terminal for a physical counter — one catalogue and one stock count shared by both, so an online sale and a counter sale never conflict.
Does the POS need the internet to work?
No — the terminal installs onto the device and caches the catalogue, so you can keep selling through an outage. Sales made offline sync up automatically once the connection is back, each with its own id so nothing is recorded twice.
What stock tracking does it use?
FIFO (first in, first out) lot tracking: stock is received in lots and sold oldest-first, kept accurate across both the website and the counter.
Can I take more than one payment method on a sale?
Yes — split a single sale across cash, card or mobile banking, and the POS records each payment and the change given separately.
What hardware do I need?
Any tablet, laptop or PC with a browser. A barcode scanner and receipt printer speed things up but are not required to start.
Do I own the code and the data?
You receive the application files and install them on your own hosting, with your own database — your products, customers and sales stay with you, not on someone else's platform.
How do updates work?
New versions are published as signed update packages, one version after another. Signing means the package is checked before it is applied.
