HOW IT WORKS

Four steps, handled with you

01
Unlock it

Ask your current registrar to unlock the domain and give you its EPP/auth code.

02
Tell us

Submit the domain and its auth code above -- we'll confirm the request and start the move.

03
Approve

You'll get an e-mail from the registry to approve the move -- usually the only action needed from you.

04
Done

The domain lands in your client area, usually within 5-7 days, with a year added to its expiry on most extensions.

FAQ

Questions about transferring

Will my site or e-mail go down during the transfer?

No -- a domain transfer only changes who manages the registration. DNS and e-mail keep working throughout, as long as nameservers aren't changed mid-transfer.

What is an EPP/auth code?

A one-time password your current registrar gives you to prove you own the domain and authorise the move. It's usually in your account there, under the domain's settings.

Can a domain be transferred right after registering it?

Most registries require a domain to be at least 60 days old before it can transfer -- we'll let you know if that applies to yours.

What does it cost?

The same as a one-year renewal for that extension -- see the full Domain Pricing list.
